Why is this important?
Haircutting and Shaving (B. V. Raman)
There are people who are mistaken about the knowledge of the ancients, believing that the observations of the sages are not worth the attention of a modern person.
In the article "The Moon and Life on Earth", April 1943, "The Astrological Magazine", Mr. M. V. Ramakrishnan showed the cyclic nature of the changes of the Moon's influence on the events of our life. He writes: "Those who wish their hair to become thicker and longer should cut it in the first half of the lunar cycle. Nails should be cut during the waxing Moon, which will give them a good opportunity for growth."
Compare this with the principles of Muhurta, especially the prohibitions concerning shaving.
The human body consists of energy flows, and hair and nails are parts of this open energy system. To concentrate and preserve good energies, to protect from evil and to get rid of the waste products of the body, the Maharishis established rules that seem completely unsystematic and meaningless to many. But from the point of view of preserving and maintaining the energy balance of a person, these prescriptions confirm the knowledge of the natural sciences by the ancient sages.
According to Maharishi Vatsyayana, akshi (eyes), vaksha (chest), kukshi (belly), shira (head), hridi (heart), hastam (hands), apatsu (the female genital organ), nabhi (navel), medhra (the male genital organ), adhobhaga (the small intestine), nalayuha (the large intestine), buddhisthana (the center of intellect) and brahmadanda (the "place of Brahma") are all energy centers (chakras).
Therefore, shaving the hair on the head (and cutting it) entails a disturbance of the natural pattern of movement and a loss of vital energy. On some lunar days, owing to a certain character of the Earth's electromagnetism (which changes, and the cycle of its changes is connected with the phases of the Moon), the loss of vitality can be neutralized.
If a person shaves (cuts his hair) after a meal, he makes a gross mistake, as he disturbs the normal processes of digestion, which in time will lead to a breakdown of health.
People engaged in the practice of sadhana (purifying spiritual rites) grow beards altogether. The point of this is to avoid wasting energy. Eye diseases, memory loss, deafness and other illnesses are a direct consequence of a wrong way of life and, in particular, of shaving (cutting hair) regardless of the time. Diseases can also be minimized to some extent by cutting (shaving) the hair according to the principles of muhurta.
Quoted from the book "Muhurta" by B. V. Raman, translated by Yuri Vitalyev.

Notes!
1) Panchang indicators are arranged in decreasing order of their importance. Nakshatra and day of the week have priority influence on time and person.
2) If the ruler of the day of the week is strong in the horoscope, then the influence of this factor of panchang will acquire an additional favorable character. And vice versa.
3) It is good when three or more of the panchang branches have a beneficial effect. This is easy to understand by looking at the color of the accompanying panchanga indicator. Green color and its shades are favorable for various peaceful affairs. Yellow indicates the need to be circumspect, and red (and its shades) indicates problematic influences. Other colors can be near the `nakshatra` indicator and they require separate study, although, as a rule, they indicate favorable opportunities.
4) Panchang indicators are secondary to the horoscope and its effects.
5) In the subject of prashna (horary astrology), it is favorable when the ruler of the hora (hour) coincides with the ruler of the day, and when the ruler of the hora is a friend of the ruler of the day. This is a chance for a positive answer to the question asked. It is also believed that the ruler of the hora and his position in the horoscope, plus the houses it controls, characterize the question of the customer (which led him to the astrologer), as well as his immediate prospects. Thus, the ruler of the hora is considered along with the ruler of the lagna (ascendant).

The table may contain the abbreviation (YK) - it denotes a Yoga-karaka, i.e. a planet forming a yoga, in this case: a Raja yoga.
Another designation is (DB), dig bala, the directional strength; it shows that this planet is able to draw a person toward its cardinal direction or bring some benefits from that direction.
By clicking on the house number in the 'House lord' column, you can read the comment on one of the 144 bhava yogas formed in this chart. These are among the main yogas of the horoscope, shaping its principal features, they are formed when the lord of one house falls into another house, which links (bringing success or problems) the themes of two houses of the horoscope - two spheres of human life.
By clicking on the house number in the 'In house' column, you can read the interpretation of the position of the planet in that house.

Note! K. N. Rao insists on using the system of seven karakas, arguing that Rahu cannot be the Atmakaraka. Sanjay Rath's opinion on this issue can be found in his articles and, on the whole, it does not contradict this statement (for material objects, seven karakas should be considered). But he also shows cases where the system of eight karakas, including Rahu, can find application.
To move from the system of eight karakas to seven, you need to exclude "Pitrukaraka" from the table header, and Rahu from the planets, aligning everything accordingly. This gives the following table:
| Atmakaraka | Amatyakaraka | Bhratrukaraka | Matrukaraka | Putrakaraka | Gnatikaraka | Darakaraka |
